Questing Quokkas

"Questing Quokkas" is part of an ABC series of limited edition prints celebrating queer critters in the animal queendom. Printed in five colors, the illustrations are reduction linocuts with handset wood and metal type. Letterpress printed with oil-based inks on 100% cotton Reich Savoy, each print measures 13 x 19 inches. This signed and numbered edition of 28 prints includes a description: Quokkas (setonix brachyurus) are small nocturnal marsupials found in southwestern Australia. Marsupials have different biological processes than placental mammals, with the X chromosome determining many sex characteristics. Joeys are born undifferentiated, with traits developing in the pouch. Many marsupials are intersex: some have internal female organs, with a scrotum and no pouch, others have a penis and mammary glands, with a small pouch and no scrotum.
