Black & Blue

$30.00

"Black and Blue" was written by Andy Razaf, Fats Waller, and Harry Brooks in 1929, and made famous by Louis Armstrong. While he had not performed the song in decades, Armstrong changed the original lyrics during a performance in East Berlin in 1965, not long after Bloody Sunday in Selma. His version, which he continued to perform, replaces "I'm white inside" to "I'm right inside." Handset and letterpress printed with wood and metal type on Curious Skin paper. Created as a limited edition zine, this was printed on one side, then folded to 4.25 x 5.5 inches.
