Octopus Truth
$100.00
"Octopus Truth" (the translation of our city "Takoma") is a collaborative broadside by ink slingers Yoshi Nakagawa and Jessica Spring. Yoshi's three color reductive linocut hides a giant Pacific octopus, where she hides deep in the Salish Sea. Jessica's haiku is handset with metal type and reads, "quick color changes conceal and send a message... but beware our ink."
The 10 x 12 print is limited to 100 copies, and can't be produced again since the reductive process removes each subsequent color. The cream-colored paper is 100% cotton, printed with oil-based inks on a vintage printing press.
